The no longer required service pit was removed allowing the working area to be increased. The spacious tower cabin has five independent positions with two and three 18" LCD screens with common brightness control. Only one keyboard is placed in each position, and the operator may select freely to input parameters using either the keyboard, the mouse or the touch screen. The operator consoles are one single and two dual ACAMS EOPS (Ergonomical Operator Position) consoles which enables operator equipment to be positioned with a very high degree of flexibility. Electric motors enable the operator to adjust the console height to his/her preference. Apart from the high contrast & ultra high resolution screens, no technical equipment is placed in the tower cabin. This makes the cabin extremely quiet and no heat is dissipated from PC's and other electronic equipment. Normal traffic operations were not disrupted during the installation process at Sola. This was made possible by the unique system architecture of the ACAMS system.
