Maps
The ACAMS Maps module is a database system for storage, retrieval
and display of maps relevant for ATC operations. Examples of such
maps are:
• Aerodrome and approach charts
• Airport diagrams
• Airspace maps
The system stores the maps as files in a standard format suitable
for the map type. The map files are linked to a database which contains
relevant details such as title, keywords (search words), revision,
responsible, validity date, previous version, new version etc. which
allows for efficient retrieval and management of the maps.
Typical screen layout:

The Maps module viewer includes support for the following features
(if available in the map source file):
• Zoom and pan
• Name search
• Layers show/hide
• Lat/long information
• Distance measuring
• User marking
• Printing
The Maps module utilises web browser technology allowing integration
with other information types and sources.
The database tables and map files are replicated to both servers
for increased availability.
